On Monday, October 7, 2013 the Hinds County Board of Supervisors will honor Mississippi’s native son, Bert Case, for his work as a journalist in Mississippi and Hinds County for almost 50 years. The recognition will take place during the regular Board of Supervisor’s meeting to be held at its regular time at 9:00 a.m. in the Chancery Court Building boardroom at 316 South President Street, Jackson, MS 39205.

“I have known Bert for over 20 years. He has always shown a willingness to work on stories, be impartial, and get it right. He has a tremendous sense of humor and is a true Hinds County legend. We want to honor him ‘just because’,” Board President Robert Graham said of Case.

The Board will honor Bert Case by presenting him with the Hinds County “Above and Beyond” award for which he will receive a plaque and also, by presenting him with a resolution declaring the first Monday in October as “Beeeeeeeert Case” Day.

The public is welcome to participate in this occasion and help the Hinds County Board of
Supervisors honor Channel 3’s own Mr. Bert Case on October 7th in the boardroom.
