The Hinds County Board of Supervisors began recognizing and honoring Hinds County Centenarians in January 2016. Each month, at the first board meeting, the Hinds County Board of Supervisors presents resolutions to elderly Hinds County citizens in recognition of a well-deserved milestone…. reaching 100 years of age or older.
Centenarians or their family members should complete the Centenarian Recognition Form online or download a copy and return it to the Aging Services Worker no later than the 25th day of the month. Upon approval, the Centenarian or their designated family member will be notified by the Aging Services Worker with the date and time of the board meeting. Should a Centenarian need transportation assistance, the Aging Services Worker will coordinate transportation services. Centenarians, during the board meeting, are presented with a resolution and small token of appreciation from the Board of Supervisors (provided by American Medical Response - AMR).
