MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Hinds County Justice Drug Court is to provide judicially supervised treatment and other therapeutic services to eligible non-violent misdemeanor drug offenders. The primary goal of the Justice Drug Court is to provide early intervention for Misdemeanor offenders that will prevent them from committing crimes in the future, also enabling them to become more responsible, law abiding, and productive citizens of Hinds County.

Hinds County Justice Court has implemented the first Misdemeanor Drug Court in the State of Mississippi. It was established in October 2005 under the Alyce Griffin Clark Drug Court Act. The program received its three year operational certification from the Mississippi Supreme Court and the Administrative Office of the Courts in March 2006. The Justice Drug Court follows the Ten Key Components established by the Drug Court Program Office of the United States Department of Justice.
